From Buxar to Patna: NCC Launches 4th Leg Of Special Sailing Expedition ​

A total of 528 Naval Wing cadets from across the country are participating in this journey to promote of unity, discipline, and environmental awareness ​

In a wonderful celebration of India's maritime legacy and youth engagement, the National Cadet Corps (NCC) Naval Wing has undertaken the fourth leg of its Special Sailing Expedition, titled 'Bharatiya Nadiya – Sanskritiyon ki Janani'. The voyage, which extends from Kanpur to Kolkata along the Ganges River, saw cadets setting sail from Buxar to Patna today.

The expedition was flagged off by Major General A S Bajaj, Additional Director General of the Bihar & Jharkhand Directorate, amid a lively crowd. This stage will take the cadets on an adventurous journey through Bihar, with the fourth leg culminating in Patna on November 21, 2024.

The expedition covers key sites along the Ganges in Bihar during its fourth and fifth legs. 

Cadets from the Bihar & Jharkhand (B&J) and Jammu & Kashmir & Ladakh (JK&L) directorates are participating in this phase.

The entire six-phase expedition will cover roughly 1,200 kilometers, arriving in Kolkata. 

The Special Sailing voyage strives to motivate India's youth with the nation's prosperous maritime history and cultivate an essence of adventure. A total of 528 Naval Wing cadets from across the country are participating in this journey to promote of unity, discipline, and environmental awareness. 

During the journey, cadets will energetically contribute to the Swachh Bharat mission by cleaning riverbanks and decreasing plastic waste. They will also engage with local NCC groups and perform street plays (nukkad nataks) to stress India's cultural legacy and the significance of environmental preservation.

The expedition's theme, 'Bharatiya Nadiya – Sanskritiyon ki Janani,' echoes the constant connection between India's rivers and its cultural heritage, making this endeavor a significant mix of adventure, kindness, and education.

This inspiring journey stands as a testament to the NCC's devotion to youth development and environmental management, while honoring India's rich customs. (PR)
