The Women Entrepreneurship Platform (WEP), under its Award to Reward initiative, has launched a pilot program to support women-led MSMEs in scaling up their businesses in the beauty and wellness sector. This inaugural cohort will empower 25 women entrepreneurs from Delhi NCR, providing training and support to grow their salon businesses.
The program, led by Urban Company in collaboration with key stakeholders, aims to create scalable templates for nationwide impact. WEP, incubated by NITI Aayog in 2018 and transitioned into a public-private partnership in 2022, serves as an aggregator platform to strengthen India's women entrepreneurship ecosystem.
This initiative aligns with WEP’s mission to address critical needs like access to finance, market linkages, skilling, and mentoring. With over 30,000 women entrepreneurs engaged, the collaboration with Urban Company is a significant step towards sustainable growth in the beauty and wellness industry.
"Supporting women entrepreneurs is key to women-led development," said Ms. Anna Roy, Principal Economic Adviser, NITI Aayog, emphasizing the initiative's role in building profitable enterprises and fostering growth.(PR)
