As part of the National Integration Tour (NIT) organized by the Indian Army under 'Operation Sadbhavna', a group of 20 students from Manipur recently concluded the second leg of their journey with a visit to Agra on 06 and 07 November 2024. The students had previously visited Delhi, where they engaged in various cultural and educational activities.
During their two-day stay in Agra, the students explored the city’s iconic historical landmarks, including the Taj Mahal, Agra Fort, Fatehpur Sikri, and Sikandara monuments. Expert-guided tours offered the students an in-depth understanding of these architectural marvels, showcasing India’s rich and diverse cultural heritage.
In addition to the historical excursions, the students had the rare privilege of visiting the Army Airborne Training School. There, they witnessed a live demonstration of a freefall jump by paratroopers and gained insights into the mechanics of parachutes. The group also interacted with the Commandant of the prestigious institution, further enhancing their learning experience. Their visit to the Parachute Brigade Museum gave them a deeper appreciation for the valor and heroism of Indian Paratroopers, highlighting their contributions in key historical battles.
The NIT is a part of the Indian Army’s 'Operation Sadbhavna', which aims to foster national integration and promote cultural understanding among the youth of the northeastern states. The tour is designed to empower young minds by exposing them to diverse aspects of Indian heritage and military history.
The National Integration Tour will conclude in Imphal on 12 November 2024, further strengthening the bond of unity and understanding among India’s youth. Through such initiatives, the Indian Army continues to play a pivotal role in promoting national harmony and mutual respect across the nation. (PR)
