NCC Cadets Gain Life-Saving Skills and Visit Suchetgarh Border Outpost

In an action-packed day, NCC cadets from Bihar, Jharkhand, Jammu, Kashmir, and Ladakh, participating in the ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat’ camp at the NCC Training Academy in Nagrota, took part in crucial life-saving training and visited the International Border at Suchetgarh Border Out Post (BOP).
The cadets underwent an intensive Basic Life Support (BLS) training program conducted by a team of expert doctors from the Department of Anaesthesiology and Trauma Surgery at AIIMS, Jammu. During the session, the cadets received hands-on training in essential BLS techniques, including cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), defibrillation, airway management, and wound care. The program emphasized the importance of swift decision-making, effective communication, and teamwork in emergency situations, ensuring that the cadets are well-prepared to act during life-threatening scenarios.
This training not only sharpened the technical skills of the cadets but also instilled a sense of readiness and responsiveness, key attributes for handling emergencies. The event was hailed as a great success, showcasing the NCC's commitment to empowering youth with essential life-saving skills, leadership, and teamwork.
In the second part of the day, the cadets visited the Suchetgarh Border Out Post, where they gained firsthand knowledge of the strategic importance of this border area, marking India's strong presence along the international frontier with Pakistan. Upon arrival, they were welcomed by the brave BSF soldiers who guard the border with unflinching dedication. The visit’s highlight was witnessing the Beating Retreat ceremony, a stunning display of military discipline and national pride.
The visit gave cadets an intimate glimpse into the courage, traditions, and service of the Indian Armed Forces, leaving them inspired.
