Both TMC and Trinamool distances itself from Mahua Moitra's statement over controversial poster of film ' Kaali ' , Opposition asks Mamta Banerjee to issue look out notice against her

After the ruckus over the statement TMC distanced itself from it. Madhya Pradesh government has filed a case against MP Mahua. Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that insult of deities will not be tolerated.

There is a ruckus from Delhi to Kolkata over TMC MP Mahua Moitra, who made a controversial statement on Goddess Kali. Mahua Moitra’s statement on the poster controversy of Goddess kali has turned into an internal dispute within the TMC. After the ruckus over the statement TMC distanced itself from it.  Madhya Pradesh government has filed a case against MP Mahua. Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that insult of deities will not be tolerated.

In the midst of all this, Mahua Moitra has unfollowed Trinamool itself on her Twitter account. He also tweeted that he is a worshiper of Goddess Kali. They are not afraid. On the other hand, Leader of Opposition in Bengal Shubhendu Adhikari said that if Mahua's statement is wrong, then why is Mamata Banerjee not issuing a lookout notice against her like Nupur Sharma?

 Congress leader and MP Shashi Tharoor said- I am shocked by the attack on her after Mahua Moitra's statement on Goddess Kali. Along with this, he appealed to the people and said- Do not take Mahua's statement seriously and do not make religion a matter of debate.

  • BJP MLA Ram Kadam has said that action should be taken against the filmmaker, mere apology will not work.
  • Mahant Raju Das of Hanuman Garhi temple in Ayodhya has threatened to behead him. Mahant said – Nupur Sharma had said the right thing in an event, but the whole country and the world caught fire. But you want to insult Sanatan Dharma? Do you want that your head should also be separated from the body?
  • Twitter India removed the controversial post from filmmaker Leena's account. Twitter took action after 3 days.
  • BJP protests in West Bengal after MP Mahua Moitra's statement. BJP state president said that why is the Bengal government not taking action against Mahua?

  • 1. Filmmaker Leena Manimekalai - Seeing the growing controversy after the release of the poster, Leena shared the post on social media and wrote – I have nothing to lose. I will always raise my voice with those who speak fearlessly. If it costs my life, I will give that too.
  • 2. TMC MP Mahua Moitra - Kali has many forms. People have different opinions, I have no problem with this poster. In many places alcohol is offered to the deities. In some places it is considered blasphemy.
  • Khan Aga Khan Museum Expresses Regret
    Leena's documentary was premiered at the Khan Aga Khan Museum in Toronto, prompting the Indian High Commission to demand the removal of such content. Now on this the Khan Aga Khan Museum issued a statement saying, "The museum is deeply sorry that 18 short videos were shown under 'Under the Tent'. There has been a controversy over one of these videos and the faith of Hindu society has been hurt.
  • Shiv Sena's statement- Poster of Goddess Kali is wrong
    Shiv Sena MP Priyanka Chaturvedi, opposing the poster of Kali, wrote in her tweet, Freedom of Expression cannot be reserved only for Hindu Gods and Goddesses. The sensibilities of the deities and people of all other religions are taken care of. I am hurt by the poster of Maa Kali, respect should be same for all.

 

So far cases have been registered against filmmaker Leena Manimekalai in Delhi, UP, MP and Bihar. There are allegations against Leena everywhere for hurting religious sentiments with the poster of the documentary 'Kaali'. Cases have been registered in Lucknow, Gonda and Lakhimpur in UP, while Ratlam in MP and Muzaffarpur in Bihar. After the poster surfaced on July 2, people got angry on social media. Many users accused the makers of hurting religious sentiments and there was a demand to arrest them.
