A large and special rally for ex-servicemen (retired soldiers) was held today in Bulandshahr. It was organised by 92 Medium Regiment with support from 9 Artillery Brigade as part of Project Sambandh. The rally was meant to show love, respect, and care for retired soldiers, war heroes, disabled soldiers, and the wives of brave soldiers who lost their lives (Veer Naris).

The event was started by Shri Lakshmi Raj Singh, MLA from Sikandrabad, and Brigadier Umang Gandotra, Commander of 9 Artillery Brigade. They spoke about how the Army always stands by its soldiers — even after they retire.

Many help desks were set up at the event. These stalls helped ex-servicemen solve problems related to pension, documents, and other benefits. A free health check-up camp was also organised, where expert doctors gave medical help and free medicines.

More than 450 ex-servicemen came to the rally, including 12 soldiers who won bravery awards and 8 Veer Naris. Veterans from the 1962 and 1971 wars also attended with their family members. Officers from the Zila Sainik Board and government were there to listen to their problems and help solve them.

Students from schools and cadets from the National Cadet Corps (NCC) also joined the event. They watched inspiring videos about the Indian Army and learned about how they can join the Army in the future.

A colourful cultural programme was also held. Music and dance performances entertained the audience, and everyone had a great time. At the end, brave soldiers and Veer Naris were honoured and given special gifts by the chief guest.

This rally helped ex-soldiers feel proud and supported. It also gave them a chance to solve important problems and meet others from the Army family. Through Project Sambandh, the Indian Army showed that its bond with soldiers never ends — even after they retire. (PR)
