A group of young people from Tinsukia district in Assam recently completed a seven-day National Integration Tour (NIT), visiting important military and cultural sites across India. The tour was organized to help the youth learn more about the country’s history, culture, and unity, encouraging them to understand the idea of 'Unity in Diversity.'
The tour began with a visit to the Armoured Corps Centre & School of the Indian Army in Ahmednagar, Maharashtra. The participants had the chance to ride on a T-72 tank, which gave them first-hand knowledge of the challenges faced by soldiers in tanks during battle. They also visited the Cavalry Museum, where they learned about the history of Armoured Warfare in India.
The group then traveled to Delhi, where they had the special opportunity to meet the President of India, Smt. Droupadi Murmu, at Rashtrapati Bhawan. They also visited famous places like the National War Memorial, Qutub Minar, and Dilli Haat, getting a taste of India’s rich cultural and military heritage.
In Mumbai, the participants toured the Naval Dockyard and boarded the INS Teg, a top Indian warship. They learned about the ship’s weapons and operations and saw a thrilling fly-past by fighter planes, helicopters, and marine aircraft.
The National Integration Tour aims to bring young people from different parts of the country together, helping them understand the importance of national unity. The tour will conclude when the group returns to Digboi, Tinsukia, on 26 November 2024. This journey has left a deep impression on the participants, reminding them of India’s strength and the power of unity. (PR)
