Justice D. Krishnakumar, an eminent judge of the Madras High
Court, has been designated as the Chief Justice of the High Court of Manipur.
The statement was made via an official communiqué issued by the Press
Information Bureau yesterday.
The appointment, made by the President of India, will take
effect from the date Justice Krishnakumar takes charge of the office. This
development follows the upcoming retirement of Justice Siddharth Mridul, the
current Chief Justice of the Manipur High Court, who is set to depart on
November 21, 2024.
Justice Krishnakumar brings with him a wealth of judicial
knowledge and a long-standing career in the court. His term is expected to
further bolster the judicial framework of Manipur, contributing to the state’s
justice delivery system.
