President Droupadi Murmu to Witness Indian Naval Operations Onboard INS Vikrant

On November 7, 2024, the Hon’ble President of India, Smt. Droupadi Murmu will embark on a historic maiden voyage aboard the indigenous aircraft carrier INS Vikrant, marking a significant moment for both the Indian Navy and the office of the President. This prestigious visit reflects India’s growing maritime capabilities and the leadership’s commitment to national defense.
President Murmu will be received at INS Hansa, the Naval Air Station in Goa, by Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi, the Chief of the Naval Staff. She will be honored with a 150-men ceremonial Guard of Honour, a distinguished naval tradition symbolizing respect and prestige. Following the reception, she will proceed to embark on INS Vikrant off the coast of Goa.
During her time on board, President Murmu will witness a dynamic array of multi-domain naval operations, demonstrating India’s advanced maritime strength. The scheduled operations include a comprehensive display of surface warfare tactics, submarine maneuvers, and air power demonstrations. The air power display will feature take-offs and landings by deck-based fighter jets and helicopters, as well as a flypast by naval aircraft, showcasing India’s aerial prowess in maritime defense.
