Air Marshal Ajay Kumar Arora Assumes Role as Air Officer-in-Charge Maintenance of Indian Air Force

Following his appointment, he honored fallen personnel at the National War Memorial. Commissioned in 1986, Air Marshal Arora holds degrees from IIT Kharagpur and the University of Pune, with a distinguished 38-year career.

Air Marshal Ajay Kumar Arora took charge as the Air Officer-in-Charge Maintenance of the Indian Air Force (IAF) at Air Headquarters (Vayu Bhawan) today. Following the official handover, Air Marshal Arora paid tribute to fallen armed forces personnel by laying a wreath at the National War Memorial in New Delhi.
Commissioned in the Aeronautical Engineering stream of the IAF in August 1986, Air Marshal Arora brings over 38 years of expertise to this prestigious role. His academic background includes a degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering from IIT Kharagpur and a doctorate in Management from the University of Pune. Additionally, he is an alumnus of the Air Force Technical College, Air Command and Staff College in the USA, and the College of Defence Management, Secunderabad.
Throughout his distinguished career, Air Marshal Arora has held multiple critical command and staff positions. Before this appointment, he served as the Director General (Aircraft), significantly contributing to the IAF’s technical and operational capabilities. 
In recognition of his service, he was awarded the Vishisht Seva Medal in 2018 and the Ati Vishisht Seva Medal in 2024. Air Marshal Arora is married to Mrs. Sangeeta Arora, and the couple has a son, Pulkit. (PR)
