The operations, conducted between October 22 and 23, underline the continued efforts to bring peace and stability to the troubled region.
On October 22, 2024, a joint operation by the Indian Army, Manipur Police, and the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) in the Thoroilok area of Churachandpur district led to the recovery of two country-made mortars (pompi), a country-made pistol, grenades, explosives, ammunition, and other war-like stores.
That same day, a separate operation by the Assam Rifles and Manipur Police in Lamzang village, near Bongbal, resulted in the recovery of a .303 rifle, a single-barrel rifle, ammunition, and additional war-like materials.
Meanwhile, in Chandel district, security forces conducted a combing operation between Songkhom and Gunjil villages. The operation led to the discovery of an automatic weapon, two locally-made mortars (pompi), a single-barrel gun, ammunition, and other war-like stores.
The joint efforts continued into October 23, 2024, with the Assam Rifles and Manipur Police recovering a cache of arms in the Kwarok Maring village area of Thoubal district. The seized items included a 9mm country-made pistol, a single-barrel breech-loading (SBBL) gun, two grenades, and further ammunition and stores.
