On October 19, 2024, the Indian Army conducted a successful medical camp at Hengjang village, located in Leimakhong, Manipur. The initiative aimed to provide essential healthcare services to the local community, offering a range of medical assistance, including health check-ups, dental consultations, minor surgeries, and medication distribution.
A total of 415 residents attended the camp, comprising 180 women, 143 children, and 92 elderly individuals. The dedicated team of Army doctors ensured that each participant received personalized care and treatment, highlighting the Army's commitment to supporting the health needs of the community.
The camp was visited by the Deputy General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the Red Shield Division, who took the opportunity to engage with locals and gain insights into their healthcare needs. As part of their efforts to empower the village, the Army also provided healthcare aids such as blood pressure monitors, glucometers, walking sticks, and physiotherapy equipment to the local sub-centre at Leimakhong.
This medical camp reflects the Indian Army's ongoing dedication to serving the community and addressing the healthcare challenges faced by rural populations.
