Sri Lanka National Defence College Delegation Visits NDC New Delhi to Strengthen Defense Ties

A 16-member delegation from Sri Lanka's National Defence College, led by Brigadier Gamini Bandaranayake, visited India’s NDC in New Delhi on 28 April 2025. The visit focused on enhancing leadership interactions and exploring defense training methodologies, strengthening defense ties between India and Sri Lanka.

Bharat: A 16-member delegation from the National Defence College (NDC) of Sri Lanka, led by Brigadier Gamini Bandaranayake Konara Mudiyansirach, Secretary of the National Defence College, visited the National Defence College (NDC) in New Delhi today. This visit aims to further enhance senior leadership interactions and promote stronger defense cooperation between India and Sri Lanka.

 

The delegation was welcomed by senior officials at NDC, where they interacted with the faculty to gain a deeper understanding of the college’s comprehensive curriculum and diverse teaching methodologies. The NDC, renowned for its world-class training and education in defense and strategic affairs, provided the Sri Lankan delegation with valuable insights into its structured approach to leadership development and strategic thinking.

 

During their visit, the Sri Lankan delegation undertook a familiarization tour of NDC facilities, which included observing various academic sessions, discussions, and briefings conducted for Indian defense personnel. The delegation showed keen interest in learning about India’s approach to defense education, especially the strategic leadership training that NDC offers to its senior officers from across the Indian Armed Forces.

 

Brigadier Gamini Bandaranayake, while expressing his appreciation for the NDC’s role in shaping India’s defense leadership, emphasized the importance of such exchanges for fostering mutual understanding and collaboration in the region.
