Mizoram Chief Minister Pu Zoramthanga ji has said in an interview that his party, Mizo National Front, will return to power in the upcoming state assembly elections with a majority of 25-35 seats.
In the last 2018 state assembly elections, the MNF party toppled the Congress party from the government, claiming that the Congress may not get any seats this year in the elections to be held on 7 November 2023. CM Pu Zoramthanga ji also said that the Congress party will be considered lucky if it gets one or two seats this time.
In the 2018 assembly elections, the Mizo National Front Party got 26 seats, the Congress Party got five seats, the BJP Party got one seat and ZPM got eight seats.
CM Pu Zoramthanga ji also said that his current government has faced challenges due to the COVID-19 pandemic, yet his government has brought development to a great extent across Mizoram.
