An Indian Army vehicle met with a tragic accident in Bandipora, Jammu and Kashmir, on January 4, 2024, while performing duty. The vehicle skidded and fell into a gorge due to inclement weather and poor visibility conditions.

Injured soldiers were promptly evacuated with the assistance of Kashmiri locals, who extended immediate support. The Indian Army expressed gratitude to the citizens for their timely help in providing succour to the injured.

Unfortunately, the accident claimed the lives of three brave soldiers. Extending its heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families, the Indian Army acknowledged the sacrifice of the martyrs.

Congress General Secretary and wayanad MP Smt Priyanka Gandhi Vadra also expressed deep sorrow over the incident. In her X statement, she said, “The news of the martyrdom of our soldiers due to the accident of an Army vehicle in Bandipora is extremely saddening. May God grant peace to the departed souls. My heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families. I pray for the speedy recovery of the injured soldiers.”

The incident has left the nation in mourning, with tributes pouring in from citizens and leaders on social media. The injured soldiers are receiving medical care.(x)
