In a remarkable display of coordination and efficiency, the Indian Air Force (IAF) and the Indian Army successfully evacuated 10 personnel of the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) after a bus carrying them met with an accident near Zuluk, close to Gangtok today. The joint casualty evacuation (casevac) operation was executed under challenging conditions, showcasing the forces’ dedication and readiness.

The incident was reported at approximately 1115 hours, prompting immediate action from the IAF. Within less than an hour, two Cheetah helicopters were launched from Bagdogra airbase to carry out the rescue mission.
