Rhino Shakti Seminar Concludes Today in Assam

The two-day ‘Rhino Shakti’ Operational Logistics Seminar concluded today on 3rd December 2024 at Narangi Military Station, in Guwahati. It brought together a myriad group of civil and military stakeholders to explore innovative approaches to strengthen national security through improved logistical infrastructure and collaboration. The occasion, held from December 2-3, was also streamed in hybrid mode to different formation headquarters nationwide.
The forum highlighted a coordinated approach between civil and military entities to optimize infrastructure and expertise for joint benefit. It focused on sustainable, efficient, and resilient logistics, particularly in the border areas, aligning with national objectives and integrating international best practices.
A key highlight was the focus on the dual-use potential of infrastructure, incorporating advanced technologies for predictive modeling of military logistics, and developing future joint logistics strategies. The talks addressed the significance of triservice integration, cost-effectiveness, and real-time decision-making capacities.
“Cooperation between civil and military stakeholders is key in building strong frameworks for connectivity, survivability, and rapid responses to national security challenges,” noted one of the seminar’s speakers. Topics such as strategic gap bridging, infrastructure improvement in remote regions, and leveraging national measures were at the forefront of discussions.
Prominent speakers included serving and retired Army officers, delegates from the Operational Logistics Directorate, Integrated Defence Staff (IDS), United Service Institution of India (USI), academia, and industry. Civilian specialists from NITI Aayog, North Eastern Railways, North Eastern Electric Power Corporation (NEEPCO), North Eastern Council (NEC), and media organizations also contributed insights on long-term security and logistical sustainability.
The conference emphasized the need for innovative cooperation, strengthening the country’s preparedness to address evolving challenges. Participants hailed the event as an important step toward improving national security and ensuring efficient, sustainable logistical support along strategic borders. (PR)
