In celebration of its 92nd anniversary, the Indian Air Force (IAF) is set to host a grand air show in Chennai on 6th October 2024. With the theme "Bhartiya Vayu Sena - Saksham, Sashakt, Atmanirbhar" (Potent, Powerful, and Self-Reliant), the event aims to highlight the IAF’s dedication to safeguarding India’s airspace.

The much-anticipated event will take place over the iconic Marina Beach, starting at 11 AM. Spectators will be treated to a stunning display of aerial prowess, with 72 aircraft from the IAF performing aerobatic maneuvers and synchronized formations. The show is expected to draw large crowds, akin to last year’s air display over the Sangam area in Prayagraj, which attracted lakhs of onlookers.

The air show will feature breathtaking performances by the IAF’s elite teams, including the Akash Ganga Skydiving Team, the Suryakiran Aerobatic Team, and the Sarang Helicopter Display Team, known for their precision and spectacular aerial choreography.

The event will also showcase a range of aircraft from the IAF's fleet, including the indigenously developed Light Combat Aircraft (LCA) Tejas and the Light Combat Helicopter (LCH) Prachand. Additionally, heritage aircraft such as the Dakota and Harvard are likely to make an appearance, adding a nostalgic touch to the modern display of military aviation.

The air show is open to the public and promises to be an unforgettable experience, offering a glimpse into the IAF’s capabilities and its vital role in defending India’s skies.
