Assam Regimental Centre Celebrates Third Batch of Agniveers with Grand Attestation Parade in Shillong

The ceremony was a jubilant occasion, with the Agniveers celebrating their transition from recruits to soldiers to the stirring tune of the regimental song, "How Beautiful is My Land."

The Assam Regimental Centre held a grand attestation and passing out parade for the third batch of Agniveers at Parson’s Parade Ground, Happy Valley, Shillong on 1st June 2024. A total of 658 Agniveers were attested and passed out during the ceremony, which was reviewed by Brigadier Neelesh Anand Pagulwar, SC, SM, VSM, Commandant of the Assam Regimental Centre.

The attestation and passing out parade marked the completion of the Agniveers' rigorous training at the centre. These newly attested Agniveers will now serve in various Assam Regiment units across the country.

During the ceremony, Brigadier Pagulwar praised the Agniveers for their dedication and high standards. He highlighted the significant contributions of the North East and the Assam Regiment to nation-building and urged the new soldiers to continue striving for excellence.

Over 2,000 proud parents and relatives attended the event. As a gesture of gratitude, the Indian Army awarded the parents with 'Gaurav Padak' medals, honoring their commitment to sending their children to serve the nation. (PR)
