NAMSA Silver Jubilee Ignites Nagaland with JK Tyre’s Indian Racing Festival Extravaganza

Thizama, Kohima: The hills of Nagaland echoed with the roar of engines and applause today as JK Tyre’s Indian Racing Festival – A Carnival of Total Control rolled into the 4th NAP Battalion Ground in Thizama, marking the 25th anniversary of the Nagaland Adventure and Motor Sports Association (NAMSA) in a grand celebration of speed, youth empowerment, and regional pride.

The motorsport carnival brought together high-performance machines and vibrant community spirit, which will be remembered as a landmark moment in Nagaland’s motorsport history. From international-spec Formula 4 and Wolf cars to drift machines, stunt superbikes, modified Baleno stunt cars, and professional go-karts, the thrilling displays captivated audiences of all ages.

The event was masterfully anchored by Mr. Neingulie Nakhro, who set the tone for a dynamic day filled with energy, elegance, and emotion. The welcome address was delivered by Mr. Tovi Chophi, General Secretary of NAMSA, who highlighted the event’s core purpose — to promote adventure and motorsports tourism across the North-East, including North Bengal, in alignment with the G20 Tourism Summit and Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Look East Policy vision.

Mr. Chophi also commended the visionary leadership of Nagaland Chief Minister Shri Neiphiu Rio, applauding his unwavering support for youth empowerment and his encouragement of motorsport development in the state. He emphasized how NAMSA’s mission aligns with national priorities such as Sustainable Tourism, Regional Development, and Youth Skill Enhancement.

Representing JK Tyre & Industries Ltd, Mr. Hari Singh, Head of Operations, extended heartfelt gratitude to the government and people of Nagaland. He acknowledged Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio for his pioneering role in encouraging motorsport culture and expressed JK Tyre’s support for the Look East policy initiated by Prime Minister Modi, calling the region a “rising powerhouse of talent and adventure.”

The event also featured felicitations by Mr. Kuputo Shohe, Advisor of NAMSA. A soulful musical interlude by the DG Band of Nagaland Police added a musical flourish to the high-octane event along with the cultural performances of Nagas. The celebration concluded with a vote of thanks by Mr. Lhouvi Punyu, bringing the curtain down on a truly memorable day.

With an overwhelming response from both the public and participants, the Indian Racing Festival at Thizama not only honored NAMSA’s Silver Jubilee but also reinforced Nagaland’s growing prominence on the national motorsport map. The event stood as a tribute to all those who have shaped NAMSA’s 25-year journey, blending tradition with throttle in an unforgettable celebration.
