A proud moment unfolded at INS Chilka as 2,966 trainees, including 402 women Agniveers, successfully completed their 16-week training and officially joined the Indian Navy. The Passing Out Parade (POP) was held on March 7, 2025, making it a special event for the trainees and their families.
The ceremony was led by Vice Admiral V. Srinivas, while Commodore B. Deepak Aneel conducted the event. Several veterans and dignitaries attended, including Sureddy Siva Kumar, Sandeep Gupta, Lohrii Besii, GS Kocher, and renowned athlete Eldhose Paul. The proud families of the trainees were also present to witness their achievements.
This event was not just a ceremony but a new beginning for the young sailors. The Indian Navy ensures that both men and women receive equal opportunities and training to become skilled, disciplined, and prepared for future challenges.
During his speech, Vice Admiral Srinivas congratulated the trainees for their hard work and dedication. He encouraged them to keep learning, stay updated with technology, and uphold the Navy’s values—Duty, Honour, and Courage. He also thanked their parents for supporting them and praised the training team for their efforts. He reminded everyone of the Navy’s motto: "Success comes through hard work."
Outstanding performers were also recognized during the event. Devraj Singh Rathore was awarded the Best Agniveer (MR), while Pramodh Singh received the same award for Best Agniveer (SSR). Mansa Gulivindhala was honored as the Best Woman Agniveer, and Mohit Kumar was named the Best Navik (GD).
At the Valedictory Ceremony, the Angre Division won the Overall Championship Trophy, while the Eklavya Division secured the Runners-Up Trophy. Vice Admiral Srinivas also launched the new edition of Ankur, the trainees’ magazine.
This ceremony was a symbol of hard work and dedication. The young Agniveers are now ready to serve the Indian Navy with courage and commitment, protecting the nation and contributing to its progress. (PR)
