Massive Security Operation in Manipur: Forces Seize Large Cache of Weapons, Dismantle Militant Hideouts

Acting on intelligence inputs, security forces recovered 114 illegal weapons, including rifles, pistols, grenades, and improvised explosive devices (IEDs).

The Indian Army and Assam Rifles along with Manipur Police, CRPF, BSF and ITBP conducted operations across Manipur to seize illegal weapons and explosives. These operations were based on intelligence reports and took place in several districts including Bishnupur, Senapati, Thoubal, Jiribam, Chandel, Churachandpur, Kangpokpi, Imphal East and Imphal West. Security forces recovered 114 weapons including guns, grenades and explosives. They also destroyed bunkers used by armed groups in Kangpokpi district to prevent further violence.

In Nepali Basti, Bishnupur district security forces seized seven weapons including rifles, pistols and an improvised mortar. In Chandel district they recovered 55 weapons including shotguns, rifles and 32 improvised mortars. IEDs and grenades were also found. In Taphou Kuki, Senapati district four weapons including bolt-action and double-barrel guns were seized. In Gothol, Churachandpur district 15 weapons were recovered. In Ankhasu village, Jiribam district forces found nine improvised mortars (Pompi). In Pourabi, Sawombung and Kalika in Imphal East district six weapons were seized. In Khengang village, Kangpokpi district security forces destroyed 12 bunkers and seized four weapons. In Langmeithek Yerum Ching and Langathel, Thoubal district they recovered eight weapons and additional ammunition. In Moidangpok Khullen, Imphal West six weapons were recovered.

These operations show the dedication of security forces in making Manipur safer. By removing weapons and dismantling militant hideouts they aim to bring peace and stability to the region. (PR)
