Union Minister of Youth Affairs & Sports and Labour & Employment, Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya, will direct a special Padyatra (foot march) titled ‘Mera Samvidhan Mera Swabhiman’ on November 25, 2024, in New Delhi. The event marks Constitution Day and celebrates the adoption of the Indian Constitution, paying tribute to the vision of its Founding Fathers.
This Padyatra is part of a year-long series of marches led by Dr. Mandaviya, each focusing on themes that encourage youth and highlight India’s roots. The Constitution Day Padyatra is the second in the series, following the inaugural ‘Bhagwan Birsa Munda – Maati Ke Veer Padyatra held on November 13, 2024, in Jashpur, Chhattisgarh.
The march's goal is to promote awareness about the Constitution and its values, especially the Preamble and principles of democracy, among young people. It will begin at 8:00 AM from Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium, with Union Ministers, Members of Parliament, and other celebrities expected to join.
The event will kick off with an inaugural ceremony featuring:
An art display on the life and contributions of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar and other members of the Constituent Assembly.
A detailed exhibition showcasing India’s constitutional journey.
An interactive Warm-up wall where citizens can relate to the values dedicated to the Constitution.
The Padyatra will start at Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium, pass through landmarks like Kartavyapath and India Gate, and return to the stadium. Around 10,000 youth from communities like MY Bharat Volunteers, NYKS, NSS, NCC, and Bharat Scouts & Guides are expected to take part.
Youth attention is a key part of the program. Activities include:
MY Bharat registration drives.
Themed selfie points for participants to capture the day.
Banner-signing ceremonies where young participants can leave their mark.
Cultural performances, educational exhibitions, and interactive sessions will further improve awareness of constitutional values.
This event is part of the celebrations marking the 75th year of the Indian Constitution and highlight the role of youth in building Viksit Bharat 2047 (Developed India 2047). (PR)
