The National Integration Tour, organized under Operation Sadbhavana by the Spear Corps of the Indian Army, concluded successfully with a grand ceremony in Koirengei, Imphal West, on Wednesday. The 10-day tour, held from 14 to 23 October 2024, aimed at fostering national unity and promoting cultural understanding, saw the participation of nine Youth Ambassadors from Manipur.
Flagged off on 14 October by the General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the Red Shield Division at Koirengei, the tour provided the participants with an enriching experience that included visits to key Army establishments and places of historical significance. The group had the opportunity to visit Kolkata, Tawang, and Shillong, interacting with senior Army officers and civil dignitaries along the way.
One of the highlights of the tour was their meeting with Shri C H Vijayshankar, the Hon’ble Governor of Meghalaya, in Shillong on 22 October. The group also visited the headquarters of the Assam Rifles during their stay in Shillong.
As the tour culminated in Imphal, the Youth Ambassadors were felicitated by the GOC of the Red Shield Division at a reception held in their honor on 23 October. The event marked the end of a journey that exposed the participants to the Indian Army’s commitment to national integration and provided them with a deep understanding of India’s cultural diversity.
The Indian Army, through its Operation Sadbhavana initiative, continues to play a crucial role in promoting goodwill and national integration. The National Integration Tour is just one of many efforts to engage with the youth of the country, offering them unique opportunities to connect with India’s rich history while inspiring them to be part of its promising future.
