The State Election Commission, Nagaland has declared the poll conducted on June 26, 2024, at Polling Station No. 4 under Ward 20 of Dimapur Municipal Council as void. This decision, made under the provisions of Section 31(1) of the Nagaland Municipal Act, 2023, and Rule 66(a) of the Nagaland Municipal Election Rules, 2023, follows a report submitted by the Returning Officer citing material circumstances.
In response, the State Election Commission has scheduled a fresh poll to be conducted at the same Polling Station on June 28, 2024. The polling hours are set from 7:30 A.M. to 4:00 P.M. to ensure ample time for eligible voters to cast their ballots.
To ensure transparency and awareness among voters, the Commission has instructed for wide publicity in the affected Polling Station areas. Additionally, political parties and contesting candidates have been formally notified in writing about the rescheduled poll date.
