As per the State Election Commission, Urban Local Body (ULB) elections were conducted peacefully on June 26, 2024, across 24 municipalities, encompassing 420 polling stations and 214 wards. A total of 523 candidates, including 325 males and 198 females, contested the polls. The voting process went smoothly in all but one polling station under the Dimapur Municipal Council, which is currently under examination by the State Election Commission for further action.

A provisional voter turnout of 83.54% was recorded at the time of the latest updates. Atoizu Town Council reported the highest voter turnout at 95.47%, while Changtongya Town Council saw the lowest turnout at 67.70%.

Any required re-polling will take place on June 28, 2024, as per the election schedule. The counting of votes is scheduled for June 29, 2024, at the designated counting centres.

It is to be noted that After 20 years, Nagaland held Urban Local Body elections with 33% women's reservation. However, six districts under ENPO didn't participate, advocating for Frontier Nagaland. (PR)
